Library
The area of the newly constructed two-storied library building is 7432 sq. ft. The reading room on the first floor is 3000 sq. ft. and including research cubicles for teachers. Our college library is enriched with near about 19,950 books, current and back volumes of 10 renowned journals and 08 other periodicals. It has a collection of 13 manuscripts. Besides serving the students and staff members of the college, it provides books to the departmental libraries also. Central Library provides reading room and lending services to our members. The other facilities are facilities of searching OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue), searching e-resources through NLIST programme of INFLIBNET, browsing the Internet etc. There is also a Book Bank facility for the economically backward students. The Library Stock is computerized with the help of SOUL 2.0. Bar-coding of books has been started. We are going to automate our circulation from 2017-2018 session. Every year, the Library conducts User Initiation Programme for acquainting the 1st year students with the rules and regulations of the Library as well as the techniques for searching OPAC, searching e-resources etc. |
